Introducing Rally
So you thought our society is great (and it is) but what happens when you combine all the societies in the UK in one place at the same time? (No this isn't a joke) This phenomenon is known as Rally, taking it in turns to tour the UK each society stages the Rally in the Autumn, Spring and Summer terms, Cardiff had the priveledge of holding the Rally in the 2001 Spring term and boy didn't it go down well! We loved it so much that we volunteered to do another and hosted the Summer 2004 Rally - The Great Welsh Rally.
These are one of the highlights of the year! They are a weekend camped hosted by a SSAGO club, so hence each one is in a different place. The normal routines are arriving Friday and have a campfire, then bed. Saturday starts off with an activity (sometimes a hike or treasure hunt or even a photo challenge!) Then in the afternoon is the activity which you have chosen. This varies from rally to rally but there’s normally a pub crawl, water sports, visits to local places etc. So it’s completely up to you! Saturday night is the big barn dance! It’s a big load of fun, where cross dressing is the norm! Sunday (if you’re up!) is silly games and then the sad bit . . . . home time. The whole weekend is a big chance to meet like minded people from all over the country.

The Next Rally
The Summer of Love Rally

Location: Lincoln District Scout Camp, Lincolnshire
In 1967 the Student Scout And Guide Organisation was born, in honour of the decade the Rally has the theme of “Summer of Love” in an effort to allow others to experience an atmosphere similar to what our progenitors may have experienced.
